Setting Wireless Access Points for PC Computers
1. Click on the “Start” Button
2. Click on “Control Panel”
3. Switch to Classic View (If applicable) by clicking on the switch
to “classic view” on the left side
4. Find and double click on
Network Connections
5. Right click on the
“Wireless Network
Connections” and select
“properties”
6. Click on the “Wireless Networks” tab located at the
top of the new window.
7. Make sure that StoutAirportNetwork is at the top of
preferred networks list and that all networks in the
list that you are NOT using are removed.
8. Click on the “Advanced” button located at the
bottom.
9. Once in the advanced window select “Access Point
(infrastructure) networks only” and deselect
“Automatically connect to non-preferred networks”
10. Click “Close”
11. Click “Ok”
12. You can close out of any of the other windows that you may have opened.
You are now setup to connect to only access points and to networks that are on your preferred networks list.
